New Look at Age-Old Remedy:
Industry Council Announces New Website to Educate about Epsom Salt

CHARLOTTE (Jan. 19, 2005) - Grandma isn't the only one who knows the benefits of Epsom Salt. The age-old compound is gaining more and more attention for its affordable, back-to-basics approach to everything from health and beauty, household cleaning, gardening and lawn care.

To help spread the word, the Epsom Salt Council has launched a new website - www.epsomsaltcouncil.org. The site explains the science behind the time-tested product and its two major components: magnesium and sulfate. It also offers specific tips for how to use Epsom Salt for a variety of health, beauty and gardening needs, including how to ease stress, help plants grow bushier and help muscles and nerves function properly. In addition, it includes answers to the most frequently asked questions about Epsom Salt - including where it got its name.*

Founded in 1993, the Epsom Salt Council is made up of the three leading manufacturers and packagers of the product. Founding members are Giles Chemical, in Waynesville, N.C.; PQ Corporation in Valley Forge, PA; and PICC in New York, NY.
