Epsom Salt is Good Company!

Movie character played by Dennis Quaid should celebrate Epsom Salt gift

(Jan. 21, 2005) – In Universal Studio’s new movie “In Good Company,” ad executive Dan Foreman not only faces the humiliation of 1) getting a much younger boss and 2) discovering his daughter is dating that boss, he also gets a gag gift for his 50th birthday: a box of Epsom Salts.

“We’re shocked, absolutely shocked that someone would think of Epsom Salt just for ‘old’ people,” quipped Jim Hill, spokesperson for the national Epsom Salt Council. “Frankly, the young boss and daughter should have been jealous of such a useful gift!”

In fact, more and more people of all ages are turning to the age-old compound because of its affordable, back-to-basics approach to everything from health and beauty, household cleaning, gardening and lawn care, Hill said.

And, he said, the benefits of Epsom Salt aren’t just folk lore. Numerous studies have demonstrated the wide-ranging benefits of magnesium and sulfate, the two major components of Epsom Salt. For more information, please go to www.epsomsaltcouncil.org.

Founded in 1993 to help spread the word about Epsom Salt, the Epsom Salt Council is made up of the three leading manufacturers and packagers of the product. Founding members are Giles Chemical, in Waynesville, N.C.; PQ Corporation in Valley Forge, PA; and PICC in New York, NY.
