DIY Conversation Heart Manicure Bombs.

If you’re a fan of bath bombs, you’re going to love this new beauty trend: manicure bombs!

They are similar to bath bombs, except instead of dropping one in the tub, you dissolve these mini-bath bombs in a dish and soak your fingers before a manicure to help hydrate nails and soften cuticles.

Using a silicone mold, manicure bombs can be made in any design, but these conversation heart manicure bombs are the perfect Valentine’s Day craft, Galentine’s Day gift for your best girlfriends, or bridal shower favor.

Here’s how to make 12 mini-manicure bombs:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup citric acid
  • 1/2 cup Epsom salt
  • 1 teaspoon essential oil
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • A few drops of food coloring
  • Silicone mold of your choice

Note: for human use, the Epsom Salt Council recommends only Epsom salt with the USP designation.

Directions:

  1. Add the dry ingredients in a medium-sized bowl and stir until combined. (Baking soda, corn starch, citric acid, Epsom salt.)
  2. In a separate bowl, add the wet ingredients and stir until combined. (Essential oil, coconut oil, food coloring.)
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  4. Slowly add in 1 teaspoon of water at a time until you achieve the consistency of wet sand.
  5. Pack the mixture into the silicone mold and let it sit overnight.
  6. The next day, slowly pop them out of the mold.
  7. Dissolve one in a dish of warm water and soak your nails for 20 minutes to prep for your next manicure. (Or add two to the tub the next time you take a bath!)
