Epsom Salt Sunburn Relief

Epsom salt can help alleviate the discomfort of sunburns by reducing inflammation, soothing the skin, and promoting healing. Here’s how to use it effectively:

Recipe

Ingredients
  • Epsom salt
  • Cool water
  • A small bowl or container (or bathtub)

Instructions
  • If using a small bowl or container, add 1–2 tablespoons of Epsom salt to about 1–2 cups of cool water.
  • Stir the mixture until the Epsom salt is fully dissolved.
  • If you prefer a full-body soak, add 1–2 cups of Epsom salt to a bathtub filled with lukewarm water.

How to Use
  1. Soak a Washcloth or Cotton Pad:
    • Soak a clean washcloth or cotton pad in the Epsom salt solution. Gently wring it out and apply it to the sunburned areas of your skin.
    • Leave it on for 10–15 minutes, or until the cloth becomes warm. You can repeat this process a few times a day.
  2. Full-Body Soak (Optional):
    • For a full-body soak, immerse yourself in the Epsom salt bath for 15–20 minutes.
    • Let the solution soothe your skin and reduce inflammation.
  3. Post-Soak Care:
    • After soaking, gently pat your skin dry with a soft towel. Avoid rubbing your sunburned skin.
    • Apply a soothing moisturizer, such as aloe vera gel, to lock in moisture and further calm the skin.

The Epsom salt helps by drawing out excess fluids and reducing redness, while the cool water helps with pain relief.
